Great Day Morning Show: Lotus Puffs (Phool Makhana)

In this segment of the KMPH Fox 26 News Great Day Morning Show, Katherine shows the hosts how to make a simple savory snack using Puffed Lotus Seeds (also known as Phool Makhana or Fox Nuts).

The recipe for the Puffed Lotus Seeds we made in this segment is as follows:

Ingredients:

2 cups puffed lotus seeds*

1 tablespoon oil

1-2 teaspoons Bombay Blonde Chaat Masala

Directions:

Heat up a large pot with oil for 2-3 minutes just until oil starts to get hot. Add puffed lotus seeds to the pan and move around on medium heat for 3-5 minutes, or until seeds are evenly coated with oil and lightly toasted (texture should be no longer be chewy). Take the Lotus Puffs off heat and sprinkle them with Bombay Blonde Chaat Masala (or to taste), coating them evenly.

Notes:

* Puffed Lotus Seeds may be substituted for popcorn
